I had this AMP paired with a Kenwood receiver and Trusonic 6x9's and a Pyle Driver Subwoofer for about 20 years. ETA: The whole rig got stolen out of my Jeep and I am still looking for you.

This amp sux... it's so OVER-Rated [insert black guy on couch laughing clip here]. AC is pricey but you get what you pay for, 1st AC purchase was in 1997... No Regerts! Really though.

As a Sundown I am dissapointed.

These amps look great and are powerful but they do not sound very good IMO

makes me sick to think about what we paid for amps all those years ago!

Illegal bass

I’m curious about the mini budget amps on amazon. I would like to find a solid 4 channel. Also, the marine amps are probably not jacked up because power sports charging systems are considerably smaller than automotive systems.

This sundown amp is a let down its not that great it sucks to say cause I like sundown.

I got duped with a hime stereo a couple years ago.... I remember in the 90s they made good stuff....

The thing I see people missing and why I think a sealed box is far far superior to a ported box is, for example some stereo integrity SQL12s (Just an example) require .65 to 1.0 CU FT per sub sealed or 1.5cu ported plus you also have to add port area so if you are running two subs sealed that's 2 cubes or ported its 3 cubes plus port you end up having close to a 4 cube box in the end mind you, now tell me if you put 3 12s into sealed and have a 3 cube box or two 12s ported into a 3 to 4 cube box which one is louder. Cone area rules period!!! I have been an installer for 30 years and started in the era of bass the 90s so I been around the block. I do also like ported boxes not a hater, but they have their place for example when you want to make small speakers sound louder than they are and you only have 1 or 2 cubes of gross area or the height is a problem and you can't fit a larger speaker then yes, a single 10 can sound awesome if done right you can have people thinking you have two 12s. another example is you built a SQ system and you have your kicks, mids and tweeters on point then you can go with a ported (or) IB to only hit the really low and infrasonic bass with tuning... (The stuff you feel and don't necessarily hear) basically moving air. most won't understand what I am talking about though if you know you know I guess but most people's first question is they want subs and bass they always skip past the most important part of any system and that's the front they don't realize that a good 3-way install can bring bass and powerful kicks to music to where you don't need to fill the whole trunk or hatch with a giant box.

You could check the resistance of the speaker, meeter on ohms would tell you the load the amp sees.

The closeups didn't really show it or my eyes are that bad, I can't tell how much of the board is conformal coated. If you shine a uv light on the board, that will show how much of the board has been coated and protected from moisture. Otherwise, great vid as usual!

Anyone running this amp at a 1/2 ohm? I’m confident she will hold but would love some confirmation

the amp is all show and little go

Bravo on the lower voltage tests... Many people wait till last minute to upgrade their electrical system and run with voltage drops... I think with the lower voltage it gives noobs an idea of what they will really get.

Were gonna make it out the hood with this one bois!!! Finally, not another D4S amp... next thing you know, he'll be doing amp dynos for large jeff... but he prolly already has.

Some of the tests you should have deemed it a fail. Not CLOSE ENOUGH. Stick to your guns and hold manufactures to a "HIGHER Standard"

Do recreational boats work the same way as cars regarding the sound system? Would it be advisable bumpin subs on an amp like this all day fishing? It wont leave me dead in the water come time to fire the boat back up to go home?

One of the nice things about conformal coated amplifier boards is they are somewhat safe to mount to subwoofer boxes.
